During Covid, physical supplies were in short supply. It wasn't just masks and hand sanitizer shortages, the entire supply line of medical devices suffered as factories lost workers and facilities switched production lines. As a physician assistant, I struggled to provide the level of care I'm used to achieving. But I'm not just a PA, I'm also an entrepreneur working in the tech sphere, and so my varied interests got me thinking about all kinds of outside-the-box ideas. One thing that really paid off was developing a partnership with a 3D printing firm. I provided them with the specs of devices we'd been using, and they were able to replicate some in minutes. These were items that were backordered for weeks, and I had them in my hands in a matter of hours. It didn't totally solve the issue of limited supplies, but it did tide us over in our worst moments.
