It all begins here. The child (no matter the age) will decide very quickly if you are trustworthy. LOOK at them. See if you can get them to smile and feel safe. Depending on the age – talk to THEM. They need to feel seen and heard. Yes, the parent knows – but the child (baby/toddler/school age and adolescent) needs to be validated.
