In my area we have an old tobaggan slide on a big hill that was turned into stairs, not a staircase so much as rough timber stairs but I've got my clients climbing the hill for workouts, its much more fun and engaging than sitting on a treadmill or stair climber inside, they like getting out into the weather, being around other people out there getting fit and it requires a bit more coordination and working different muscle groups that aren't worked on a stair machine where every step is the same, much better workout on these uneven rough timber stairs, my clients seem to love it, even those that typically don't enjoy cardio.
Active recovery is an important part of every fitness program so we take our clients out in a group for rucking and day backpackaging. It's a really great time and strengthens our community of fitness enthusiasts who eventually become accountability partners for one another.
