I come in on the backside of many DIY projects. Many times the DIY portion doesn’t get exposed until someone tries to sell a house. I have come in many times to bring a terrible DIY up to code for the safety of the new buyer. Many times Being up to code has helped the new buyer avoid unnecessary expense due to a bad home inspector as well. Bad DIY jobs that are not up to code can void a house sale, and every time changes have needed to be made the new buyer demands they be done by someone licensed and insured.
