My healing journey began in 2019 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had two lumpectomies and a double mastectomy with reconstruction and breast implants. In 2021, I started experiencing many strange symptoms—including chronic fatigue, joint pain in my wrist, and nerve pain going down my right arm. I woke up dizzy every day, and my hair was falling out. After seeing multiple specialists and having multiple scans, I still had no answers. I finally decided to see a holistic chiropractor who immediately determined the symptoms were coming from the toxins in my breast implants. I was suffering from breast implant illness. I then joined several BII groups on Facebook and learned that thousands of women were also suffering from this illness. The only answer being discussed was to remove the implants. I decided to schedule the surgery as it seemed to be the only way to get rid of these toxins in my body. In doing some due diligence, I spoke with someone from one of the Facebook groups about her experience undergoing the surgery. She recommended I call someone near me whom she thought would be helpful because this person had also gone through breast cancer and was holistic-minded. When I gave this woman a call, she definitively said, "Cancel your surgery. I can help you." She believed I was suffering from an immune response from the implants, and that I could heal this response by getting to the root cause. I thought about it for a little bit, then said "Okay. Tell me what to do." What I learned was that the body heals one layer at a time. The first step was to detox my body with a natural supplement made from the pith of an orange. I took this for four months. Next we focused on healing the mucosal lining of my gut, which I did by taking immunoglobulins for three months. The last part of the process was to take homeopathy. Nine months later, all the symptoms were gone. It required a lot of faith but in the end was well worth it, as I was able to keep my implants and feel good again. After my healing, I was inspired to focus on helping other women in this vastly underserved community. I received my Wellness Counseling certification from Cornell and am now focusing on working with women who are interested in keeping their implants and healing their bodies.
I remember grappling with chronic joint pain as I approached my mid-fifties. My knees would give me the hardest time, especially in the mornings or after sitting for long periods. A friend of mine recommended trying ginger tea, swearing by its anti-inflammatory properties. Skeptical at first, I decided to give it a shot—after all, I was desperate for any semblance of relief. To my surprise, after incorporating ginger tea into my daily routine, I started noticing a reduction in the stiffness and pain within a couple of weeks. It wasn’t an overnight miracle, but drinking a cup every morning seemed to gradually ease the discomfort. I also added ginger in more of my cooking which doubled up the benefits. It's one of those remedies that require a bit of patience and consistency, but for me, it turned out to be quite effective. Always worth a try if you're struggling with similar issues, and hey, it's just tea!
I'm 52 and spent years dealing with chronic anxiety and panic attacks that started after childhood trauma. Traditional therapy helped somewhat, but I was still having 3-4 panic episodes weekly that disrupted my work and relationships. What completely changed my life was bilateral stimulation through self-administered butterfly hugs - a technique from EMDR therapy where you cross your arms and alternately tap your shoulders while focusing on breathing. I started doing this for 5 minutes every morning and whenever I felt anxiety building. Within 6 weeks, my panic attacks dropped to maybe one per month, and now I rarely have them at all. The bilateral stimulation naturally calms your nervous system by engaging both brain hemispheres, essentially rewiring your trauma response without medication. As someone who now helps others heal from trauma, I've seen this simple technique work for hundreds of people. Your body has an incredible ability to self-regulate when you give it the right tools - sometimes the most powerful healing happens through gentle, consistent practices rather than complex treatments.
At 53, I found an all-natural cure that changed my life and it wasn't a pill, a cleanse, or a diet. It was NeuroCoaching. For years, I was always rushing, multitasking, achieving, and overthinking. I didn't see it as a problem because it felt so normal. But beneath the high-functioning surface, I was living in a chronic stress state. Neuroscience calls it sympathetic mode — a constant fight-or-flight response. My nervous system never truly rested. I was always saying yes to new projects, extra work, and volunteering in the community. I wore busyness like a badge of honour, constantly managing multiple roles and trying to be perfect — at work and as a mom, wife, and friend. What I didn't realize was that being constantly active was my survival instinct in disguise, my nervous system's way of staying safe through motion. Eventually, I started to feel like I was living a version of my life that looked right on the outside but didn't feel right on the inside. I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly disconnected from myself. That was my ailment, not a disease but a deep misalignment with my true self. I had been abandoning my own needs without even realizing it. Then I discovered NeuroCoaching, and that's when my life truly began to transform. This type of coaching blends traditional coaching with applied neuroscience. About 80% of it is learning about the brain and the science behind our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and reactions. I discovered that 95% of my decisions were being made automatically, driven by subconscious patterns I didn't even know were there. Internal drivers like please others, be strong, and be perfect were quietly fueling my stress. NeuroCoaching helped me understand the difference between automatic and deliberate thoughts. With practice, I began to rewire those patterns, release the limiting beliefs that were holding me back, and finally step into the life I truly wanted to live. Most importantly, I stopped abandoning myself. I finally stepped out of the constant stress response of sympathetic mode, day after day, and I learned how to return to balance and presence. Today, as a certified NeuroCoach, I help others uncover the silent stressors running their lives so they can reconnect with who they truly are. I didn't need fixing. I just needed to pause long enough to hear myself think, and that's where the real power lies: in learning to think about your thinking. And that changed everything.

My doctors diagnosed me with "Patellofemoral Osteoarthritis" and told me to schedule double-knee surgery ASAP to replace both knees, in order to walk again. MRI and Xrays showed I had zero cartilage, and it was bone-on-bone, which is excruciatingly painful - I could barely stand, much less walk, swim, or even do yoga. I had just quit my corporate job (selling software) and started my own business doing "Energy Healing" full-time because it worked every single time I did it for others, including animals. Even though my clients proved my services work, healing my own knees was a whole different level of validation, proof and incredulity. I made a promise to myself that if healed both knees, I would dedicate my life to helping others heal themselves, and that's what I've been doing since 2020. Doctors still don't know how I'm walking, hiking, biking and climbing. My process for helping people and animals reverse chronic issues, physical pain, illnesses and diseases via Energy Work is 100% pure, natural, and safe. I combine several techniques together to extract and flush out negative energy that's stored in the body - via Reiki, Pranic Healing, Crystal Healing and Quantum Healing Hypnosis. Then, I help clients figure out the (spiritual) Root Causes of health issues, which is always emotional and psychological, so that it doesn't come back or travel somewhere else in the body. Usually, clients find me when they run out of options and it's their last resort. Most people are skeptical, but there are testimonials and success stories all over the internet. People call them "miracles", but healing ANYTHING is just normal to me. Humans have so many gifts and abilities that are not being leveraged because we don't learn about them in the public school system. My mission is to empower people to do the unthinkable, open their eyes, hearts and minds, lean into the unknown, not be afraid, and experience miracles. The past 6 years have been the most fulfilling and rewarding times of my life. I'm 49 years old - almost 50. It's never too late to learn new things!
I'm 48 and finded something unexpected after years of dealing with persistent melasma that developed during my pregnancies. Despite trying countless treatments in my medical aesthetics practice, the dark patches on my face made me feel self-conscious even while helping others achieve confidence in their skin. The breakthrough came when I started incorporating reflexology sessions into my routine - specifically targeting liver and kidney meridian points on my feet twice weekly. Within three months, my melasma had lightened by roughly 60%, and my overall skin tone became more even than it had been in over a decade. What I learned is that melasma often stems from internal hormonal imbalances and liver function issues that topical treatments can't address. The reflexology helped my body naturally detoxify and rebalance hormones without any creams or procedures. Now I recommend this approach to clients dealing with stubborn pigmentation issues. Your feet contain reflex points that directly correspond to organs responsible for skin health - sometimes the most effective solutions work from the inside out through ancient healing methods.
I'm not over 50, but I finded something powerful during my own postpartum journey that changed everything for my anxiety and sleep issues. After struggling with severe postpartum anxiety and insomnia following birth trauma, I found that consistent yoga breathing practices completely transformed my nervous system without any medication. The specific technique that worked was 4-7-8 breathing combined with gentle yoga postures I learned during my yoga therapy training at Niroga Institute. Within three weeks of practicing this for just 10 minutes before bed, my sleep improved dramatically and my anxiety episodes dropped from daily to maybe once a week. What made this so effective was how it directly addressed the root cause - my dysregulated nervous system from trauma and hormonal changes. The breathing pattern literally resets your parasympathetic nervous system, which is why it works when other approaches don't. I now teach this to all my parent clients at Thriving California, and I've seen mothers go from panic attacks to peaceful sleep using just this natural approach. It's particularly powerful because you can do it anywhere - even in the middle of the night when anxiety hits.
I'm not over 50, but I've personally experienced the healing power of breathwork for chronic anxiety that plagued me for years. After trying multiple medications that left me feeling disconnected, I finded somatic breathing techniques that literally changed my nervous system's response to stress. The specific practice that transformed my life was the 4-7-8 breathing method combined with vagal toning exercises. Within three months of daily practice, my panic attacks completely stopped and my sleep quality improved dramatically. I went from waking up multiple times per night to sleeping through consistently. What makes this approach different is that it works directly with your body's natural stress response system rather than masking symptoms. The vagus nerve essentially acts as your body's reset button, and specific breathing patterns can activate it to shift you out of fight-or-flight mode into a state of calm. This personal healing journey is actually what led me to specialize in somatic therapy professionally. I've seen this same breathwork approach help dozens of my clients break free from anxiety, chronic pain, and trauma responses that traditional talk therapy couldn't touch.
I'm 38 and not quite 50, but as a licensed therapist who's worked with hundreds of women facing chronic illness, I finded something that completely changed my approach to anxiety management during my own postpartum period. After my second son was born, I was drowning in postpartum anxiety and the standard breathing exercises weren't cutting it. I started doing what I call "grounding through texture" - carrying a small piece of embroidery fabric in my pocket and running my fingers over the different stitches when anxiety hit. Within three weeks, my panic attacks went from daily to maybe once a week. This technique worked because it combines tactile stimulation with mindfulness, giving your brain something concrete to focus on instead of spiraling thoughts. I now teach this to my clients dealing with medical anxiety and chronic illness stress. One woman with lupus said it was the first thing that actually helped her manage her doctor appointment anxiety without medication. The key is finding a texture that feels soothing but engaging - rough enough to ground you but smooth enough to be calming. I've seen clients use everything from worry stones to small pieces of velvet, but embroidery floss worked best for me because of the varied textures in different stitches.
