We started using Square around 3 months ago, singing up was easy, with a very user-friendly interface. The main reason for using Square was good exposure of API so it would integrate well into our CRM. Processing rate is also very competitive and square offers next-day payout which is great for our cash flow The only con we experienced was account holds and freezes in the initial days. The freezes were removed after providing necessary documentation. This was a bit alarming at first as a small business owner, cash flow disruption is very difficult to manage We would recommend it to business owners as there are many options especially for businesess who want to use their tablets or mobile as POS.
The way square functions (as a point of sale) is sadly horrible. Because it needs to replicate your product inventory it causes a lot of headache. It isn't just trying to be a payment processor, it feels like it's trying to take over my online stock management, my products and i hate that it doesn't sync up right. I think Square should switch their business model up a bit and focus moreso on becoming an efficient payment processor. It also does not help that Square is actually SquareUp, and SquareSpace is a website platform. Squareup.com owns square.com so it doesn't really matter, it's just strange that their primary service is squareup.com and not just "square".
