Improving Flexibility and Reducing Muscle Soreness with Warm-Up and Stretching Sessions One small but impactful change I made to my gym routine was adding a consistent warm-up and cool-down period to each session. As a busy entrepreneur, I used to rush into workouts, diving straight into weights or cardio without much prep, just to save time. However, I noticed this approach left me more prone to soreness and even minor injuries, which would set back my routine. After some research, I decided to dedicate a few minutes to stretching and dynamic warm-ups before each workout, followed by a cool-down and gentle stretching. This small shift made a huge difference. Not only did it help reduce muscle soreness, but it also improved my flexibility and overall endurance. Now, I can work out harder without feeling the same level of fatigue afterward, which has been invaluable in staying consistent and energized, both in the gym and in running my business.
I switched from doing traditional cardio to high-intensity interval training (HIIT) twice a week. This small change improved my stamina and helped me burn more fat in less time. The increased intensity pushed my limits, leading to faster progress in both strength and endurance, and I saw noticeable results within a few weeks, boosting my overall fitness goals.
Instead of just going in to 'do the work,' I focussed on each rep and how I could improve it. Then, each set is another opportunity to refine the rep. This mindset change has given me a tonne of psych and has helped me stick to a routine.
