In 2025, I'm especially excited to see how AI will shape social media marketing, particularly for content creation on TikTok. AI-driven story creation is already making waves with hilarious, over-the-top content involving cats, animals, and quirky characters, and I think AI will take character animation to incredible new heights. I've tried it myself, using voice generation and animation tools, and the results have been surprisingly good. It'll be interesting to see how big brands jump into this space. So far, brands using AI-driven content are seeing strong engagement-it's funny, it's authentic, and audiences are responding well. Right now, it's still a bit niche and even seen as "icky" by some, but I can't wait to see how brands start leveraging it as AI becomes a bigger part of the content landscape.
There are a number of trends I'm expecting 2025 to bring us, however what really excites me is the fact that niche platforms are really starting to take off! Sure, big names like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will still be around, but smaller platforms that focus on specific interests are gaining traction. These sites create tight-knit communities and often see way more engagement. If you're a business wanting to connect with specialized audiences, it's time to dive into these emerging networks. People are also getting tired of overly polished content. By 2025, authenticity will be the name of the game. Consumers will lean toward brands and influencers who keep it real and relatable. Sharing your imperfections, behind-the-scenes moments, and showing the human side of your brand will help build trust and loyalty. And let's not forget about social commerce! Shopping directly through social media apps is set to explode in 2025. Platforms are making it super easy for users to buy stuff without ever leaving the app. Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are gearing up to become full-on marketplaces. Plus, shoppable live streams-already a hit in Asia-are about to take off in the U.S. and Europe. These interactive sessions let customers see products in action, ask questions, and make purchases on the spot, making shopping way more fun and engaging!
Hello, I'm Breanna Hendry, the Social Media Marketing Director at Minky Couture, a US-based blanket retailer on a mission to bring warmth to everyone, everywhere. With 8 years of experience at Minky Couture, and 6 years leading our social media efforts, I've had the opportunity to lead the growth of our social media presence by over 500,000. One of my favorite things about social media are the trends we see coming and going. In 2025, I am really looking forward to seeing more user and community generated content, as well as live shopping experiences. I think both of these are going to make the socials experience more about the user than the business. Here is why: - User and community generated content is something we are seeing get more and more popular. Users want to form longer and more meaningful relationships with brands. Because of this, we are seeing a rise in longer form video content, with more of a focus on storytelling. This is giving brands the chance to dive deeper into who they are, share real experiences from real customers, and let the customers see behind the scenes into who the brand really is. At Minky, we are always trying to build these connections with our audience, which is why I'm so excited for this trend to really take off! - Live shopping experiences are also going to take off in popularity. With the nature of social media being all about the now, it's only natural that we see the platforms becoming more convenient for users to get what they want, and when they want it. This will mean that brands can showcase their products in more dynamic ways, while encouraging immediate engagement and faster purchase decisions. This will also make it easier for social media managers to monitor the direct ROI of their engagement and how it equates to direct sales. I hope this is what you're looking for! Storytelling and personalization over polish. Whether you like it or not, TikTok has made embracing imperfections and focusing on your message highly sought-after. I'm looking forward to seeing more personal stories about the industry I'm in (content marketing), more creative ideas, and a higher focus on the actual people behind the products than just glossy marketing videos.

AI-generated social media personalities and influencers. Our belief is that AI UGC will take over posing as real people & interacting as such, and people can't tell the difference - this social media trend could potentially revolutionize the way we interact on social media, blurring the lines between human and AI-created content. This lowers acquisition costs for brands to get impressions & sales, while creating a premium for real, genuine, human-made UGC content. As a UGC Creator Agency, this opens up more possibilities for content creation and rewards the best creator -- forcing an improvement on the creator economy, leading to an improvement in the social media experience.
Social media platforms that users browse for inspiration are quickly becoming oversaturated with AI generated images. They display products that don't exist, travel destinations that aren't real, and beauty standards that are unobtainable. I'm looking forward to a push in 2025 for content that is real, unpolished, and rich in human made creativity.
The new Meta glasses look like we finally have a pair of AR glasses that look cool and are useful. I expect to see Meta especially integrating AR more into their suite of products, such as Facebook and Instagram. Imagine if you could view a post of an influencer you like on IG and then using your glasses see what their outfit would look like if you were wearing it in the mirror. Or see a motorcycle for sale on Facebook marketplace and be able to do a 360 walk around of it using your glasses. I think use cases like this are why Meta has been investing heavily into using AI for creating depth models from flat images.
Brands prioritizing social media customer support Come 2025, one social media marketing trend I am looking forward to seeing is brands becoming socially engaged with their audience, even more than they are today. You see, while AI's contributions to efficiency and increased productivity in marketing may remain remarkably outstanding, the way I see it, AI technology and innovations, would not be the only trend occupying the center stage in the world of social media marketing come 2025, and one of the possible reasons for this, would be because both businesses and marketers as usual, would be forced to adjust and strategically position themselves to meet the ever changing needs, desires and preferences of their audience and customers. The fact is, customers already use social media, plus, in addition to being continent, social media guarantees faster response time for customers, plus it would also help businesses access better insights. In 2025, I am looking forward to seeing brands prioritizing providing social media customer support, in alignment with customers expectations of quick responses on social media. This social media trend would be both because brands understand the important role of personalization in ensuring that they offer tailored support to their customers and because they understand that providing excellent and real time social media support to their audience differentiates their brands, as well as increases their competitive advantage, especially when operating in a competitive market.
Bold Predictions for Social Media in 2025: Imagine a world in which social media and daily lives coexist together in 2025, with AI acting as our personal content curator and knowing precisely what we want to view and share. Shopping experiences are being revolutionized by Augmented Reality (AR), which enables customers to "try before they buy" in real time. Because they provide specialized areas where people may connect over extremely precise interests, micro-communities thrive. Additionally, when we scroll, digital well-being aspects are prominent and encourage awareness. Personalization, optimism, and purposeful interaction are hallmarks of this year.
I anticipate exciting trends in social media that will enhance branding and PR strategies. As audiences increasingly seek authenticity, there will be a stronger emphasis on storytelling and sharing core brand values. This evolution will enable companies to forge deeper connections with their followers and cultivate a positive, trustworthy image. Social media is likely to become a primary platform for brands to share updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and values that truly resonate with audiences. Also, I look forward to seeing how brands will adapt to the growing focus on visual storytelling in social media. As platforms introduce more tools for creative content, brands will have new opportunities to bring their messages to life through visuals, interactive posts, and short videos. These trends in branding and PR will encourage companies to showcase a more human side, making it easier to connect with audiences on a personal level.
As a leader in an eCommerce business, I can say that there's a lot of hype surrounding AI and generative content, but the more that exists, the more audiences will search for AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES. I think this is what I'm looking for in 2025. I have the feeling that a lot of digital marketing efforts will begin to shift their focus from general mass-market campaigns to "focused campaigns" aimed at niche audiences-since niche audiences tend to have more stable metrics over longer periods, and there seem to be unmet demands for specialized marketing in niche markets, especially in B2B
One social media trend that I'm certainly looking forward to, even if I'm not too optimistic that it'll happen, is renewed stability and growth in the social media market. We're a long way from the time when Facebook was king, and those days are probably never coming back, but between Facebook's stagnation, Twitter's implosion, and TikTok's uncertain future, there aren't a lot of sure bets in social media marketing on the horizon. Thank you for the chance to contribute to this piece! If you do choose to quote me, please refer to me as Nick Valentino, VP of Market Operations of Bellhop.
As we look to 2025 at Stallion Express, one exciting development is the emergence of AI-powered social media customer service. AI bots can expedite our client contacts, providing round-the-clock assistance while preserving customized service, as more than 70% of consumers anticipate quick responses online. Social commerce is another noteworthy trend. Businesses like ours can interact directly with customers through shoppable posts as social media platforms develop into shopping destinations, speeding up and simplifying the purchasing process. This presents a fantastic opportunity for eCommerce-focused businesses to increase revenues without dealing with the hassle of transferring clients off-platform. By utilizing these resources, Stallion will remain flexible and continue to provide value to Canadian companies.
One of the things I hope will begin to take off in 2025 is "slow media" movements, wherein people spend time on social media in a more deliberate, ritualistic way, instead of continuously using it. The point being, in a world full of constant noise, having times or rituals where social media is spent in life-enriching ways would be great. For example, people could set aside time in their day or week for specific kinds of content - like following one creator's story, learning from deep dive posts, or keeping up with their friends' posts, rather than scrolling endlessly. It would render social media a more carefully chosen, filling environment, with each interaction becoming intentional. The trend would take social media away from the idea of "following," and replace it with the enjoyment of reading a book or watching a movie. For creators, that could mean making content that can be digested slowly, thoughtful pieces that don't become outdated within an hour or two. And for users, it might transform social media into something they look forward to, and instead worry about being interrupted by it. This "slow media" shift might in the end result in a stronger relationship with social media, where consumers are being served content at a pace that makes them feel authentic and helps to bring the digital and actual worlds of awareness into one.
Social media trends can emerge in a flash, and even now it's a bit difficult to predict what will be trending in 2025. The usage of AI will continue to be a bogeyman in the social media world, but I am not looking forward to continuations of the endless debates over its usage. However, I do hope to see some positive trends from 2024 continuing, such as the growth of short-form video and increased user engagement and user-generated content across social media platforms.
