Feeling burnt out, stressed out, panicky, and overwhelmed? Of course you are. Social media and capitalism feeds on comparing you to others and reminding you what you are missing. This race to the bottom works because it keeps you on your phone, buying things you don't need, and working yourself to the bone. Fear keeps us busy and exhausted. Connection, contentment, and deep breaths are simple but not easy ways to get yourself out of the exhaustion loop. Try them!

Exhaustion has become a common theme in our fast-paced society, largely because we’ve internalized the idea that productivity is paramount. Kids are often enrolled in numerous activities, driven by the pressure to excel academically and socially. As a parent, I've felt the weight of balancing work demands and family life, often sacrificing my own downtime. Many people in my circles pride themselves on their busyness, equating it with success, which creates a culture where rest feels like a luxury rather than a necessity. Observing my clients, I see the toll this takes; they often struggle to find balance and prioritize self-care amidst their hectic schedules. It’s evident that systemic factors like workplace expectations and societal norms need to shift for us to reclaim our right to rest and rejuvenation.
