I am writing an article about alumni who own second "football" homes in their college towns. This is NOT about rental properties. This is a second home you use to get back to college, enjoy football/basketball games, etc. These MUST be southern schools ONLY. I actually own a second home near UNCW in Wilmington, where I graduated with my finance degree in 2019. What pulled me back wasn't just the football games, but the deep community connections I built during my college years - I still volunteer as a drummer at my church there and stay involved with local real estate investment groups. I've owned the property for about three years now, and while we use it for Seahawks games and campus events, it's really become our family's home base for staying connected to the community that shaped my career and where my real estate business first took root.
