The Sea to Sky Highway, Highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler, is my absolute favorite road to drive. It's like this perfect combo of jaw-dropping views and a legit thrilling ride that makes any sports car feel alive. You've got the sparkling Howe Sound on one side, these massive coastal mountains towering on the other, and the scenery just keeps shifting, keeping you hooked the whole way. The road itself? Smooth as butter most of the time, with this awesome mix of long, flowing curves and straight stretches where you can open things up a bit—safely, of course. What really gets me pumped, though, are those perfectly designed corners and elevation changes as you wind up toward Squamish and then Whistler. There's something about hitting those banked turns, nailing the apexes, and feeling the car just dance through the curves. It's not just driving; it's like you and the car are in sync, and the road's inviting you to soak it all in. Pure magic.
Colorado's Peak to Peak Scenic Byway is one of the most exhilarating routes I've driven — even in a Jetta and a Sportage SUV. The winding mountain roads between Nederland and Estes Park offer the kind of curves, elevation changes, and sweeping views that make you wish you were behind the wheel of a proper sports car. Driving that route made me seriously rethink what I want in my next vehicle. It's the kind of drive that turns curiosity into passion.
One of my favorite scenic routes to drive a sports car on is the Mumbai to Lonavala via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This stretch offers smooth tarmac, long curves, and breathtaking views of the Western Ghats—perfect for anyone who loves the thrill of driving. What makes it special for driving enthusiasts is the combination of high-speed potential and the sharp ghat turns near Lonavala, which really lets you feel the performance of your sports car. It's a route that truly tests both the car and the driver. At CarzOnWheel, we often highlight such routes that bring out the best in your car. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a test drive adventure, we help you find cars that can make these drives unforgettable.
The Angeles Crest Highway (State Route 2) is a really cool drive, and one with the twisty roads, elevation changes, and scenic views a lot of drivers will be looking for. It also has less traffic than many other popular scenic drives in California. It can be a very challenging drive as well, with lots of twists and turns - and steep drop-offs. Enjoy the drive, but drive with caution - and be sure to follow the speed limits. This area is being patrolled for speeders more aggressively these days. Hope this helps!
