I was traveling in Umbria, near Orvieto, when I heard about a micro winery that produced wine in a small village: Cantina Terrazze di Spazzavento. I visited them and was absolutely amazed. Their winery is located in a tiny hamlet called Monterubiaglio, nestled in an alleyway that feels like stepping back in time. It was like being in a fairy tale. The producers, two brothers, make only 5,000 bottles, and everything is done by hand. There's no space for machines or tractors to pass, so they transport the grapes in crates to the entrance of the village and carry everything by hand from there. Their winery also features a museum with bas-reliefs carved into the tuff stone, all crafted by their father, who is over 80 years old. The wine that impressed me the most? Their amphora-aged wine. What truly surprised me was the whole experience: the location, this little village's craftsmanship, and the wine's quality. I had never seen a winery in a village like this-it was absolutely wonderful!
