It doesn’t all have to be perfect. You don’t have to quit your job right away but you do have to start somewhere. Make your plan and execute something daily that gets you closer to where you want your business to be. Over time you’ll be very proud of the progress you’ve made. When I created my card game, Cruel Tunes, I didn’t even have a logo but I wrote out all the cards and printed off a very low quality version to get a prototype and test the game with family and friends. You’re going to come up with lots of ideas for businesses but when you find one that you feel passionate about, just go for it!
Done is often better than perfect. Yet when it's your won business, failing can really hurt... your ego. Realizing no one will think about your muck-ups more than you. I started my business the first year out of WP Carey and I now have a very successful business and I have one of the biggest businesses in my industry and it's been 10 years since I graduated. One of the reasons I was able to do that while others failed is because I focus on what my customers want and need. Most of the people I meet are so stuck on their own creative creations that they forget that they're in business to help their customers solve their problems and fulfill their desires. If you want to be successful in business, find a serious problem in the market, find people who have challenges or desires that aren't being serviced well, and then focus on getting to know those customers and helping them more than anyone else does and you'll be successful at what you do.
There are 3 things I have learned about starting a business since graduating from ASU. Planning and strategizing is the most important. If you do not do either, you are sure to fail. Planning and strategizing are different and should be the top priority. Depending on your long terms goals, the second would be what are you selling? Since covid, it has made me think a lot about physical vs digital and what could be better for the growth I want. Covid made it hard to get physical products while software boomed. Lastly, when making your team, be mindful of their values & culture. Be sure you know exactly who you are working with before hiring them. It may sound cliché, but I really do think a successful business has to start with a passion. Without passion for the product or service, the business will eventually decline due to lack of motivation. Take advantage of networking opportunities throughout your degree, including networking events, industry speakers, internships, and simply coffee morning hang out . It doesn't necessarily have to be in a business context; simply becoming acquainted with your colleagues on a casual level might lead to a professional working partnership.

Don't complicate things. It may be a straightforward business, such as babysitting or yard work. This will offer you practice in starting a business, arranging your papers, registering it, obtaining a tax identification number, and other related tasks. I could give hundreds of tips about what to do and what not to do, but the only fact that will hold true for every single person, is that you just have to start. Every person and business is different and we all have different goals, but time is the one enemy that we all face. It’s okay to make mistakes and you don’t need to know everything before you start your business. Don’t listen to anyone who doesn’t think you can do it, or that you aren’t ready; just go out and make it happen and then learn from your mistakes. Ask yourself, are you ready to fully commit to this? Owning your own business is incredibly rewarding, but it isn't for everyone. It can be lonely and stressful and takes a lot of perseverance. You don't have the luxury of clocking out at the end of the day, as you do when you work for someone else. You can't be knocked down easily because there will be a new challenge every day, and most of the decisions will land on your shoulders. If these factors don't deter you, and you have a passion for something, then you should go for it because it is gratifying and exciting, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

My advise for students who desire to launch their own firm is that they should be imaginative. Not artistic creativity, mind you. I refer to patterns of thinking that produce outlandish answers. How do you go about that? through teaching your mind to view things differently. by making an effort to come up with a different idea even when the existing one is sufficient. Develop your understanding of how an entrepreneur uses resources to seize an opportunity and make money for himself and his clients. At this point, learning about things like legal requirements, project costing, production, sales, marketing, positioning, differentiation, augmentation, innovation management, human resources management, financial reports, and so on, will be very daunting for you.
1. Start small: Having a big idea is great, but it's important to start small and grow from there. Don't try to do everything all at once - focus on the basics and work up from there. 2. Research: Make sure you do your research and understand the industry, the market, and the competition you are entering. 3. Network: Reach out to other entrepreneurs and business owners in the industry and build relationships. Networking is an invaluable tool for any business. 4. Get organized: Have a solid business plan and make sure you stay organized. This will help you stay focused and on track as you start and grow your business. 5.
