What do you believe is the significance of Remembrance Day in honoring the sacrifices made by Canadian military personnel, and how do you think it impacts the collective memory and national identity of Canada?

I think the biggest significance of Remembrance Day is to commemorate the sacrifices of the past that have led to our present. While we may not know a world of war, hardship or comparable pain - we can appreciate that our current national fabric and makeup is a byproduct of the sacrifices made by many during the challenging times of the past. This collective memory helps to foster a national identity that Canada is a melting pot of people willing to sacrifice for a better life - past, present and future.
