I guess I’m not the only one who believes that individuals should be able to convince people and present their ideas properly. The correct way of speaking and information presenting can stimulate the rapid growth of the audience. I came to the conclusion that the skill of finding a common language and speaking in public greatly expands your horizons and develops mental flexibility. Invitations as a guest to YouTube podcasts and filming in interviews helped me a lot in the development of much-needed public performance skills. It definitely had a considerable impact on my career and further attitude toward project development. A nice bonus is that during these events I not only improved my public speaking skills but also shared the idea of my startup, shared the idea of my startup, spurring interest in it.
After our daughter's diagnosis of Leukemia in January of 2022, my life changed at every level. Navigating the role of Chief People Officer for a National Opioid Use Treatment and Mental Health company, continuing to find a creative outlet with a nationally syndicated podcast, leading a team, showing up as a wife, mom and daughter was leaving me feeling like a complete failure in all aspects of my life. Researching the topic of burnout and mental health for my podcast, I came across the work of Kristin Neff and her focus on Self-Compassion. The shift to asking for and taking needed space, radical prioritization, and mindfulness allowed me to forgive myself on the days that didn't go as planned and celebrate small successes. This shift has allowed me to show up as a better human in all aspects of my life and career. I now integrate these elements into my work as a leader as well as providing these learnings to our employees to reduce burnout and increase resilience.
For a long time while developing and growing my business, I was pretty much working on my own. That unconsciously enforced in me a habit of doing everything related to leadership on my own, be it recruitment and employee management, marketing, client engagement--even dealing with clients personally. All of this did get too much, and it was only when I looked at the business growth that I realized I'm going about it the wrong way. No leader can do it on their own, and in fact they shouldn't do it on their own. Instead of trying to be an expert for everything, it's better to rope in the experts and let them guide you or take over some aspects of management themselves. It's also better to recognize the strengths of your team and harness them to play a bigger role in buisness development.

On the one hand, it helped me create great working relationships with everyone as an employee. On the other, it helped me build a great network in the industry. And this network boosted my transition into establishing a business.

Through persuasive communication, I can persuade people based on the merits of the argument and do so in a way that resonates and gets people on board. My role (content marketing) has a lot of moving parts, and I'm working on multiple projects every day. Because of this, it's necessary for me to block out times for certain tasks and only focus on that specific task. At my previous job, my duties were fairly similar each day and I was working on the same project for months. At my current job, time-blocking is key to my productivity. I'm able to completely zone in on a project and only focus on that for an hour or so, and I find a get a lot done that way. Depending on the size of my projects, I may just dedicate my day to two sole projects and get a significant amount done.
