As one of unconventional testing methods that I always use as a tester of video game, I like to call it environmental stress testing. This approach requires the compulsive investigation of the border and peculiarities details in which there is a necessary requirement of pushing up environment and its mechanics into crowded as well pitching the chaos into parts where such disturbances are not perceived to happen often. For instance, when directed through the designed narrative of a game’s lore and storytelling in an attempt to follow its intended path or achieve set objectives within the world of that game sometimes I deliberately make my way into parts of the same space-worlded areas those are hardly ever visited or I choose how interact differently with the specific elements used in these games. This could be in form of jumping down cliffs, wall-clipping or even improvising and using vicious combinations of items or capabilities. By moving out of the normal test and understanding or discovering edge cases or border conditions that developers may not have considered under routine testing, I aim to investigate the game in ways that are outside of how they were designed. Such unease actions have a potential to share hidden optical differences with the collision detection, physics simulations, AI behavior and other game system elements that typically become noticeable only in different unusual situations. Notably, I use player feedback and community forums to obtain information on trend reports as well as observe other players strange behaviors. The approach taken in this case is crowdsourced since it helps me identify patterns or recurring complication which suggest the presence of bugs associated with performance issues that require further consideration.
