Sometimes you act as a therapist and other times you act as a "therapist". Both skills are important. It is worth taking the time to listen to your patients, sympathize with their problems and gain a connection. It helps the patient feel more at ease and trust you to guide their therapy.
Know your worth! Respiratory therapy is a small field and often get overlooked and underappreciated. Never doubt your importance to the team and to the care of your patients.
