My best advice for this is to 'pick up the telephone.' It is too easy to send a message on Slack or Discord. Email gets buried. When you have an idea, or a question, pick up the phone and call the folks in that other department. No matter how small or insignificant the question seems - having a chance to talk in real time with voice can be the step that opens doors to better ideas, better solutions, better answers, and better collaboration.
As a CEO and data practitioner, my tip for successful cooperation with other departments is embracing proactive learning. Don't wait for data requests to come in, be ahead of the curve by understanding the intricacies of each department, their needs, pain points, and their data. By doing so, we bring a sense of preparedness into our collaborations, leading to rapid, data-based solutions that keep the entire organization agile and efficient.
