I've always loved a wide range of genres and my go-to album of the moment is largely reflected by my mood. Given the emotional rollercoaster that startup founders go through, it's a tough question to answer. If I had to pick one go-to album that's helped me through my journey as a founder, it'd have to be Sturgill Simpson's 'Metamodern Sounds in Country Music'. Simpson's blend of complex melodies, psychedelic influence and bravery to break convention all underpinned by the cathartic escapist qualities of the country genre make this the perfect piece to simultaneously slow things down and challenge your thinking.
While it not be as iconic as its big brother, Abbey Road, Revolver remains the best album to keep on repeat during the workday. Its expansive, boundary-pushing creativity is sure to help you not only focus, but be inspired. The spacey atmosphere it creates is unlike any album before or since. The kind of synergy the band had during this album cycle was truly one of a kind and can show the value of what a team can do.
When I started up my company back in 2009 we would work late nights with my small team and would jam out to Best of David Bowie. It was the one album everyone in the office would agree on. It didn't matter the age of the person from a 20 year old to a 60 year everyone seems to enjoy it. David Bowie's music just puts everyone in a good mood. Now every time I hear David Bowie it brings me back to the long nights when we were a struggling startup trying to figure out how to make it.
As a startup founder, I'm always looking for music that will help me focus and stay motivated. For me, that album is "The Score" by The Fugees. It's a classic album that never gets old, and it always gets me pumped up and ready to take on whatever challenge is in front of me.
My go-to album as a startup founder is "The Bends" by Radiohead. It's the perfect soundtrack for my workday: it's got a steady beat, but it's also moody and introspective. The lyrics are both dark and hopeful—they remind me that no matter how hard things get, there's always an opportunity to try again. I love this album because I can listen to it on repeat without getting bored—it's not too repetitive or predictable, and each song has its own unique sound while still fitting into the overall theme of the album. It's an album that will never get old, which is exactly what I'm looking for while working through my to-do list.
Music is the soundtrack to meaningful events in your life. Send The Pain Below by Chevelle is an excellent example of pain, development, and those not believing in your vision. This melody pushes me to succeed and use the bad days in my developmental phase in my business as a lesson. Then, of course, there are many songs that I can listen to for emotional support and motivation. This band's music reminds me of the ups and downs of starting a business and pursuing a dream.
There's nothing like a bit of Metallica to fire up your day as a founder. The band's sophomore album, Ride The Lightning, has the perfect blend of thrash metal goodness with equal parts melody and emotion. It's the perfect soundtrack for a non-stop day at the helm of a startup. From Fight Fire With Fire to The Call Of Ktulu, this album dials you in and gives you all of the motivation you could ever need on a Monday morning.
There is nothing more special for a start-up owner than the day they receive their first client. It is an ethereal feeling that nobody can understand the same way the start-up founder experienced it. I often visit back in time and recollect the memories of my fundraising phase. I frequently cherish the memories when we were busy building strategies to reach more customers after the initial days of conducting a brand awareness campaign and reaching out to like-minded people to get our first client. When we were disappointed with the response from our audience, one day, we received a message inquiring for more information about our products. Finally, we cracked the deal and got our first client. This is the most memorable moment in my start-up journey that I love to cherish.

“What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger”. This is my all time favorite phrase which is my whatsapp status as well. Of course, Clarkson uses this cliche in the context of getting over a breakup, but it also holds true in the context of running a business. When a business partner rejects you or when you fail and have to start over, use her fiery bounceback hymn as a source of motivation. "Stand a little taller" in the face of rejection, like the pop singer sings. Champ, keep your head held high. You're not done just because you had a minor setback.
The best album for me as a startup founder is the soundtrack for the musical Hamilton. The album was recently turned into a play and is a nice escape from the rough and tumble startup world. Hamilton is about the founding of the United States as we know it and the primary writer and composer is that of Lin-Manuel Miranda. While the lyrics are difficult to follow and are hard to sing along with, they're great to listen to while working on a hard problem or thinking about the next steps in my startup. The album has a wide array of music styles and there are greats like John Legend, Sia and Nas who are now known as the founding fathers of the musical in their own right.
There's nothing that gets you fired-up more than some heavy rock from early Rage Against The Machine! As a founder of multiple publishing startups, I find that funky, high-energy music keeps me engaged with the multiple plates I'm spinning each day. And RATM reminds me of my childhood... what's not to love when it comes to blasting the album at 7am on a Monday morning!
As a startup founder, it is important to have humility and persistence for the startup to perform well. Humility is meant to help you build your business from the resources and people around you, while persistence helps you ensure that the business develops in time.

Music passes as an excellent tool that alters thoughts and emotions. The Face Value album has tracks that calm the spirit and lowers stress. These tracks enable an entrepreneur to be calm and solve complex shortcomings that he would not have solved when stressed. The tracks also enable an entrepreneur to maximize creativity and also harness the music into a product promotion tool.
As the founder of a music business, I listen to a lot of music every day. One album that I always come back to is Anderson .Paak's 2016 album 'Malibu.' It is soulful and uplifting, so it's good for almost any time of the day. Songs on the album such as 'The Waters' and 'The Seasons/Carry Me' talk about the struggles the artist has overcome, and about his journey to success, which make it great for inspiring a positive, 'success' mindset.

My best, go-to album as a startup founder is The Beatles' Abbey Road. It's one of my favorite albums of all time and it always gets me in the right frame of mind to be creative and productive. The album has a lot of great tracks that are perfect for focusing on work, such as "Come Together" and "Octopus's Garden". And who can resist the classic title track at the end? Abbey Road is an album that never gets old for me.
A startup founder's best and go-to album is to build a sales or user acquisition machine. It holds true for every company type, and if cash is the gasoline allowing your company to run, your second priority must be pumping oil daily. The day we pushed our organization's website live, I transformed all my bios to the "Founder of the Digital Press." My co-founder and I got to create a process for luring new clients. Initially, we thought about who we were selling to and what pain points they might face. Finally, we have considered how we could get on the phone to explain the amenities of content marketing.
My best, go-to album as a startup founder is Kanye West's 'Ye'. The album is short but impactful, with eight songs that each contain powerful messages for self-reflection. The album has inspired me to be more honest with myself and to always stay true to who I am. I listen to 'Ye' whenever I need some motivation or inspiration. With lyrics like “I put my faith above my life, that’s on my momma 'cause I made it out alive,” Kanye is reminding us of how lucky we are to still be here.
Album VC is my favorite and best album as a startup founder. It collaborates very well with company culture and technology. As a result, we can prioritize transactions with it and create value for individuals. I used it extensively and propped up my startup venture by leaps and bounds in the shortest possible time.
A Founder is an individual who concocts a thought (ideally a productive thought) and afterward changes it into another business or startup. Pioneers can set up a business all alone, or they can do it with others. The individuals who are best over the longest timeframe with their new companies will have specific normal attributes. Those characteristics will incorporate vision, energy, the capacity to fabricate useful groups, the capacity to keep fixed on an objective, the eagerness to request what is required, modesty, and perseverance. The ideal number of pioneers is either a few, with a special case periodically made for four, contingent upon the startup and the group. Being a solitary pioneer can be truly precarious — not exclusively is difficult to have everything on yours shoulders, but at the same time it's far-fetched that you have every one of the abilities that your startup very to succeed.

As a founder, sometimes you need to dig deep and just crank out at a work block when you're already spent. The album that never fails to get me past this wall is Justice's 2007 self titled album. It's like the ultimate combination of incredible electronic beats but mostly without lyrics that can distract you. The full album is on YouTube and lasts around 50 minutes, which is about the perfect amount of time to crank out whatever final boss of a task you need to finish. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb7cTUwPG-A&ab_channel=AThousandPapercuts Hope that helps!
