Over and over I see people saying they are seeking happiness while still asking for input from everyone in their inner circle. At that point we are seeking approval. If we go against that input or don't agree with the perspective we often create some inner turmoil. Instead, get clear on your needs, strengths, desires, and values. Ultimately, if you lean into those you'll find more happiness. Just remember that happiness is not still water. It has waves.
Happiness comes from within. That's a cliche but it doesn't make it any less true. My best tip for being happy with yourself is to start by focusing on the positive and learning to accept your flaws. Focus on what makes you special and unique, no matter how small or insignificant it might seem. Spend some time each day expressing gratitude for these positives in your life, as they can help brighten your outlook and improve how you feel about yourself. Take a step back and evaluate areas of improvement without passing judgement on yourself harshly or negatively criticizing one specific aspect of your life; see this as an opportunity to learn from mistakes and become better in those areas moving forward! Finally, find ways to enjoy spending time with yourself.
