For me, the answer is twofold. Radio wasn't something I grew up dreaming about. Unlike many in our industry, it wasn’t a lifelong aspiration for me. It wasn’t until I was 18, almost a year out of high school with no clear direction for my future, that I stumbled into a part-time job at a local radio station. People often say this business gets in your blood, and they’re right—it’s a unique kind of passion. My passion for radio is really a passion for good radio. I’m not against technology; in fact, I love it. But I believe that in some areas, technological advancements have done more harm than good, and radio is one of them. Nowadays, anyone with a hundred bucks and a decent internet connection can record a podcast, and many do. This flood of low-quality, unstructured content is taking a toll on radio. It’s not the podcasting itself, but the sheer volume of poorly produced content that’s changing the standards in our industry. Radio is an art form. We are storytellers—even the midday jock who might only crack the mic 30 seconds at a time. Radio is about making genuine connections by telling stories that move people to action. Unlike TV, our craft is intangible, painting pictures with words and sounds. My passion is to create compelling content that is highly produced and paints a vivid picture that listeners can easily visualize. That’s what makes the kind of radio that truly reaches people. The other side of my passion is the type of content I’m producing these days. After 20 years programming country radio and doing mornings, I took on the role of producing one of the top syndicated Christian radio shows in the world. We air daily on over 800 radio stations, and just over a year ago, we expanded to include a weekly 30-minute show that’s currently on over 50 stations. We’re planning to launch five more programs later this year that will all start as podcasts, but will eventually be syndicated as well. I say all that to say this: My passion now is in coaching others to create compelling content that not only paints these vivid pictures but also communicates the most important message—the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I’m dedicated to helping people take the rich, theological truths they have and present them in a way that’s engaging and accessible, so listeners can both visualize and understand. That’s my ultimate passion…spreading the good news of Jesus in a way that engages, edifies, and entertains.
I'm passionate about broadcast media because it merges my expertise in telecommunications with my drive to help businesses grow. Having built and scaled a telecommunications company, I’ve seen firsthand how effective communication can transform businesses. Broadcast media amplifies this by allowing companies to connect with millions, shaping perceptions and driving success. My passion lies in helping others harness this power to tell their stories, reach their audience, and ultimately, achieve their goals.
I appreciate how broadcast media can reach wide audiences instantly. It creates a shared experience other platforms cannot match. Broadcast media can evoke strong emotions and tell compelling stories. Carefully crafted narratives can help convey messages that resonate with audiences. This often leaves a stronger lasting impression. This ability to tell stories that move people is something that I try to emulate through content creation. Drawing inspiration from broadcast media helps me strive to make content that connects with readers on an emotional level.
Broadcast media had a major impact on my formative years, having grown up in a formerly communist Poland. Love it or hate it, there is no denying that there are strong feelings about it in my country - and I am not immune to those feelings myself. There is a constant battle to shape the narrative even to this day, as enough people in the country follow broadcast media exclusively and this can have major impact on things like elections and day to day life. This means that I feel quite passionate about broadcast media and it remaining as truthful and unbiased as possible, despite largely moving on to alternative sources of media myself. It isn't for me, but it most definitely impacts me.
In my opinion, broadcast media is a dynamic field that perfectly blends creativity with technology and offers exceptional opportunities to those who dream big. From producing and directing to writing scripts and editing, there are countless roles in the industry that demand unique skill sets. The field offers you a chance to bring unique stories to life, impact several lives, inspire thoughts, and influence emotions. Every project you take up gives you a chance to learn something new and exciting. My passion for broadcast media stems from its ability to inform, connect, and inspire a wide audience across the globe simultaneously. The ever-evolving landscape compels me to be on my toes and keeps pushing me to think and innovate creatively. The networking potential that this field offers is also immense. You get to exchange ideas and resources with some of the seasoned professionals in the industry. So, taking your work a notch higher becomes effortless.
I'm passionate about broadcast media because it empowers us to share stories that are true and wide-ranging. We rigorously fact-check and explore various perspectives to ensure our content is both credible and comprehensive. It's truly rewarding to deliver work that not only informs but also enriches our audience's understanding daily. This role of bridging diverse voices and fostering informed communities is what drives my enthusiasm for the field.
As the founder of an ecommerce growth agency, I'm passionate about broadcast media's potential to scale businesses. By leveraging digital platforms, entrepreneurs can achieve massive reach and impact. For example, one client struggled driving traffic from Facebook Ads to their online course. We optimized their ads by focusing on short video content and influencer endorsements. Conversions skyrocketed over 70% as their story and mission resonated with audiences. They're now a leader in their niche, helping over 50,000 students annually. Broadcast media allows anyone to share knowledge and build community. I started my agency to help business owners tap into platforms like podcasting, livestreaming and blogging to transform their growth. Success comes from understanding your audience, testing strategies and adapting quickly based on data - not luck. With hard work and the right tools, people from any background can thrive as thought leaders using media.
Call me old school, but despite the fact that I get the bulk of my news from alternative news sources there is still something about broadcast media that carries a sense of legitimacy and prestige. Not just anyone can be a broadcast media host, the thinking in the back of my brain goes, and what they have to say is important. I find that things that get put into broadcast media are often extremely impactful, things that are incredibly important to me as an individual. There is also of course something to be said for the 24 hour news cycle ruining this a bit, but on the whole I really hope that broadcast media continues to stay the course and covering what really matters.
For me personally, boradcast media is amazin because it has the great ability to bring people together. Whether it’s a live sporting event or a TV series finale, these moments create collective memories.
As the founder of Refresh Digital Strategy, I have a passion for helping small businesses harness the power of digital media. For example, one client saw a 35% increase in qualified leads after we optimized their Google My Business listing and social media profiles. By ensuring their business information was accurate, consistent and optimized for local search, we made them much more findable to potential customers already looking for their products and services. Broadcast media, when leveraged strategically, can be a game changer for small businesses. It allows them to build brand awareness, strengthen customer relationships and drive real business results regardless of their marketing budget or technical expertise. At Refresh, we take pride in making these powerful tools accessible to businesses of all sizes. Our goal is to help as many clients as possible open up the full potential of digital marketing.
As a boudoir photographer, I'm passionate about using broadcast media to empower women and promote body positivity. My blog and social media allow me to share inspiring stories of women who have redisvovered their self-confidence through boudoir photography. For example, one client told me "I never thought I would feel so confident in my body" after her shoot. By sharing her journey on my blog, I was able to show thousands of women that any body can be sexy. Broadcast media also allows me to build trust in the boudoir photography industry. Many women are hesitant to book a boudoir session due to feelings of insecurity about how they look. By posting behind-the-scenes photos and videos on social media, I give potential clients a glimpse into the fun, laid-back atmosphere of my studio. They can see that I create a safe space for all women to feel comfortable embracing their sensuality in front of the camera.
