My name is Brian M. Curran. I’m located in New York City. For the past 17 years I have provided drafting services on a B2B basis. I service architects, contractors, engineers, interior designers, and a variety of other clientele. The projects I handle could be small or large, and the projects could be located locally here in NYC or across the country. Prior to running my business I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Directly after graduation I worked for six years as a Structural Engineer for AECOM and other engineering firms. Most of my engineering experience was in the AEC industry’s Heavy Civil Construction and Structural Engineering Design sectors. I accumulated diversified project experience on construction, design, and inspection projects for New York metropolitan area clients inclusive of Metro-North Railroad, NYCDEP, NYCDOS, NYCTA, NYSDOT, and PANY&NJ. I found the discipline of engineering interesting, but I believed there was a more satisfying career fit for me elsewhere. I now get the career fulfillment I was looking for in my drafting service business. Since starting out I’ve grown from a solopreneur to presently having a drafting team. Also, I’ve become an expert at what I do. And if I get a call about something I’m not familiar with, then I typically have a team member who is familiar with it. To date I’ve successfully provided drafting services to over 325 different clients. Including creating as-builts for multistory buildings and residential houses, architectural schematics, DDs and CDs for residential and commercial structures, a variety of types of shop drawings, and the list goes on.
