Short-term operators to discuss Airbnb home insurance
We're writing an article on Airbnb home insurance and we'd like to get your first hand insights and observations. In return, we can offer a link to 1) your direct booking site 2) your listing page or 3) a business *explicitly* related to the STR industry.
Also more than happy to link to insurance providers for this article.
Here are the questions. Please feel free to answer as many or as few as you like but try to give full sentence answers.
1) When did you switch from standard homeowner's to STR insurance and what prompted it?
2) Do you think Airbnb's Aircover is sufficient for your business? Why/why not?
3) How do you think about the role of AirCover now that you’ve hosted for a while?
4) Has the constant turnover of Airbnb guests changed how you think about risk compared to a normal home or long-term rental?
5) Was the cost of insuring an Airbnb property higher or lower than you expected when you began hosting?
6) What factors seemed to have the biggest impact on your premium as an Airbnb host?
7) What was most difficult about figuring out what kind of insurance you actually needed?
8) Looking back, what’s one insurance-related mistake you’re glad you avoided — or wish you had avoided — as an Airbnb host?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
