Yoga—specifically a combined yoga and body image class I took during treatment for anorexia—profoundly improved my quality of life. During my very first class, while holding Warrior pose, three thoughts arose that quietly changed everything. First, I thought, I don't have to loathe my body. For the first time in nearly twenty years, the possibility of accepting my body entered my mind. The idea felt so radical that tears began rolling down my cheeks. Next, I noticed my quadriceps shaking as I held the pose and thought, Wow, I can feel my muscles. I had been living from the neck up for so long that I was largely detached from bodily sensation. Feeling my strength—rather than monitoring my weight—was entirely new. Finally, a third thought arrived with surprising clarity: I have to share this gift with others. That insight stayed with me, and the day after I graduated from treatment, I began yoga teacher training. Holding Warrior II helped me feel my strength, accept my body, and release deep, stored emotion. As I continued practicing, I began to appreciate my body for what it could do rather than how it looked. I developed a renewed interoceptive awareness—an ability to sense hunger, fullness, and other bodily needs that had been muted by years of self-starvation. Today, I practice regularly and teach yoga, with over 1,200 hours of ongoing teacher training fueled by a deep curiosity about yoga practice and philosophy. Yoga supports my recovery, enhances my clients' well-being, connects me to community, and grounds my spiritual life. What began in a single class has continued to unfold—strength, awareness, and belonging growing with each practice.
Hi there, Learning about gut health and how it impacts my overall wellness significantly improved my life. I was first turned onto the gut microbiome when I read Gut Check by Dr. Steven Gundry. I followed some of his dietary strategies and found that my rheumatoid arthritis became more manageable. So, I went on to earn a certificate as a Gut Health Nutrition specialist to understand the science behind the gut microbiome. Through this program, I learned more lifestyle strategies that improved other symptoms/conditions that I thought were part of my life forever. These included seasonal allergies and unexplained rashes, chronic sinus infections and UTIs, sciatica and night time "growing pains," and more. Essentially, understanding what works for my body and what doesn't work has led to sustainable habits (and yes, weight loss). I offer tips and resources through social media and also compiled most of what I learned into a book titled Gut Health Made Simple: Your Daily Tracker which is now available on Amazon: https://a.co/d/gzISLkw If you'd like to discuss further, please contact me at grammygoinggreen@gmail.com or 215-896-9554. Thank you, Kim Logan

I adopted a nutrition plan guided by naturopathy, and it changed my quality of life. It helped me heal from an autoimmune disease, and my health was fully transformed within nine months.
One women's wellness practice that truly improved my quality of life during perimenopause was a combination of HRT, turmeric, ashwagandha, taking all my 13 essential vitamins and minerals at the correct doses, and reducing sugar and refined carbohydrates. It took about 12 weeks of consistent use of HRT, supplements, and dietary changes before I noticed significant benefits. After that period, my energy levels improved, my mood stabilised, my joint pain disappeared, and brain fog became much more manageable. Over time, these changes really helped me feel more in control of my health and wellbeing during menopause. This experience inspired me to leave my career, create my supplement brand at the age of 51, and retrain as a menopause wellness practitioner.
Mindfulness meditation has been the most impactful practice I adopted. It shifted me from a reactive to a proactive approach, helped me spot early signs like fatigue and irritability, and guided me to align lifestyle habits with clinical care. The benefits became clear as I practiced it consistently and made it part of my routine.
Functional training with simple movements like squats, lunges, and planks is a practice that can improve back comfort and daily mobility. Benefits are often noticeable within a few weeks. Consistency helps sustain and build on those gains.

We are taking the successful weight management program (supported with homeopathic drops) from Marcelle Pick (www.MarcellePick.com) that has helped 3500+ women over 6 years in her medical practice (with a 99% success rate and no reported side effects) and bringing this to a wider national audience, launching early next week at www.Appetrol20.com. We would be happy to connect you to people with testimonials (from the "how long" answer... Marcelle's program is called "Drop 20 in 6" so it has shown results of dropping 20 lbs in 6 weeks).
