I’m Balaram Thapa, the founder and CEO of Nepal Hiking Team, a leading agency offering trekking and adventure tours across Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in the tourism industry, I specialize in designing safe, culturally rich, and memorable trekking experiences in the Himalayas. My journey began as a trekking porter and evolved into leading one of Nepal’s most trusted adventure companies. This deep field experience—combined with a strong commitment to sustainable travel—gives me a unique perspective on high-altitude trekking, traveler safety, and authentic Himalayan exploration.

For the past six years, my family and I have lived and traveled continuously around the world, visiting every continent in a 13-month span and documenting the experience as full-time travel creators. I’m a Southern California-based sailor documenting real-world cruising, boat ownership, and life on the water. With a background in teaching, environmental science, water education, Indigenous land stewardship, and hands-on field science, she collaborates closely with schools, community partners, and land management agencies to create meaningful learning experiences for students from preschool through high school. Sarah is known for her operational strength, program leadership, and her ability to build lasting partnerships with organizations such as Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Trout Unlimited, NRCS, the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District, and other local conservation nonprofits. She is also a CSU Extension Master Gardener and contributes regularly to community education through articles, outreach events, and place-based gardening and ecology instruction.
