Guest articles
Publications that take contributed writing — op-eds, columns, and analysis from people who aren't on staff. A byline is the one kind of coverage where you control every word.
Passive — you reach out to them
Available in chat and to any connected MCP client.
Where the data comes from: Featured's index of publications with known contributor programmes, plus live discovery for topics the index doesn't cover.
What you get back
Filters
You don’t type filters. Describe what you want in plain language and Featured picks the filters for you — “podcasts with at least 50 episodes that published something this month” sets two of the filters below. The literal field names are listed because they’re what an MCP client or API caller passes.
| Filter | Field | Type | Default | What it does | Ask for it like |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Publication | publisherNames | One or more names | Any | Only these publications. | “guest posts on TechCrunch” |
| Domain authority | domainAuthority | Min and/or max, 0–100 | Any | Only publications inside this Moz DA range. | “DA above 60” |
Handled for you: excludeSourceUrls — Featured fills this in to keep results you have already been shown out of the next set.
Notes
- Two ways to find a byline. The indexed route is instant and filterable. For niche topics, Featured can also go and look — searching the live web, reading contributor pages, and extracting the submission route. The filters above apply to the indexed route.
- Standing programmes appear as requests too. Some publications run permanent open calls for contributors. Those arrive as journalist requests tagged as bylined-article requests, so a guest-article search returns both.
