Journalist requests

A reporter has a question and needs an expert to answer it. This is the only opportunity type where the demand already exists — which is why it converts faster than anything else, and why the deadlines matter.

Filters

You don’t type filters. Describe what you want in plain language and Featured picks the filters for you — “podcasts with at least 50 episodes that published something this month” sets two of the filters below. The literal field names are listed because they’re what an MCP client or API caller passes.

Handled for you: excludeMediaQueryIds Featured fills this in to keep results you have already been shown out of the next set.

Notes

  • Deadlines are the point. These expire. A request closing tomorrow is worth more than a better-matched one that closed last week — ask for what’s closing soon.
  • Expert panels and council columns arrive here too. A Community request can be either a panel question or a standing invitation to contribute a column. The panel’s name is shown separately from the outlet, because that’s the name you’d recognise.
  • Guest articles overlap. Asking for guest posts searches both the guest article index and journalist requests tagged as bylined-article requests, so you see standing programmes and one-off calls together.
Results never repeat within a conversation. Featured remembers what it has already shown you and excludes it from the next search — so “show me more” gets you new results, not the same list again. Start a new chat to reset.
